We have an immediate full time opening for a Broadcast Engineer to be a part of our top-notch team of engineers dedicated to providing technical support to all KXLY Broadcast Group properties including: Television – KXLY 4.1 – ABC; KXLY 4.2 – MeTV; KXLY 4.3 – Heroes & Icons; KXLY 4.4 – Start TV, KXLY 4.5 – DABL, KXLY 4.6 – QVC and KXLY 4.7 – HSN, and Radio – 92.9 ZZU, Rock 94 ½, The Big Coyote Country, Hot 969, KXLY 920 AM and ESPN Radio 700. What you’ll do:
- Assist with daily repairs for News, Production, Programming, Operations, G/A and Sales
- Handle daily facility issues that happen overnight
- Assist with installation of computer hardware and software across all departments
- Assist with installation of digital video and audio hardware and software across all departments
- Assist with building maintenance, to the degree local codes allow
- Handle vehicle inventory and maintenance
- Help inventory station assets
- Set up live remote shots for TV News and Radio
What you’ll bring:
- College Education or equivalent
- Proven ability to be accurate in work
- Advanced skills with Excel, Word, CAD and other MS Windows applications
- Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Working knowledge and understanding of digital broadcast technical systems preferred
- Must possess or be able to obtain a valid driver’s license
- HVAC Maintenance and repair preferred
- Networking, IT, and video over IP experience preferred
- Society of Broadcast Engineers Certification preferred
Physical Demands and Environment:
- Ability to respond to emergencies on a 24/7 basis including travel by air
- Ability to climb ladders safely
- Ability to use, transport, and lift equipment weighing approximately 50 pounds
- Ability to drive and work safely in inclement weather conditions
- Good color vision and binaural hearing
