Madison Magazine, Madison’s premier lifestyle and business magazine and part of family-owned Morgan Murphy Media, seeks a Digital and Promotions Editor to create and assign digital content, promote digital and in-print stories, oversee the magazine’s digital strategy, publish print stories on the web, manage the magazine’s social media accounts and assist the Associate Editor in overseeing interns. We are a dynamic, forward-thinking team of content creators and journalists who produce the area’s most prominent print source for all things Madison. We are looking for somebody who feels connected with our city and its surrounding areas and knows how to tell and translate stories of its people and other reader interest areas to the web.
The ideal candidate will have proven writing, editing, content management system, social media, and management skills. They must be flexible, creative, collaborative, extremely well organized, detail-driven, and comfortable working on multiple deadlines.
Qualifications for this role include a bachelor’s degree in journalism, English, or a related field. A minimum of three years of professional writing/editing experience and/or digital creator or social media experience is desired. Knowledge of the Madison community and key players is also helpful.
This job is for an in-office/at-home hybrid schedule. Applicants must live in the Madison area and be able to come into the office every week.
