We’re hiring a Director of Streaming and Digital. This position requires creativity, trust, leadership and the ability to thrive and take chances in a place that will support and guide your work. 

What you’ll do:

The Director of Streaming and Digital will oversee all digital platforms, from our website to social to our streaming app. You’ll lead a team of hungry content producers, while also breaking new ground in the streaming space. In addition to being a journalist, the ideal candidate is also a consumer of streaming content who understands the platforms.  

You will coach and educate our entire newsroom about how to leverage content on digital, while also working in a newsroom and for a company that believes your life outside of the newsroom is the most valuable time you spend. This is a position that requires collaboration, but you’ll need to be self-motivated to manage your team. 

What you’ll bring:

First and foremost, as the Director of Streaming and Digital,you’ll understand all of the digital platforms and how they fit into the overall news strategy. You’ll mentor, hire and coach our team of digital and streaming content producers. Working with the Executive News Director, you’ll create and execute a plan to build audience on digital platforms, understanding all metrics available and creating a plan to build off strengths and find opportunities. Create a plan for building 24/7 content on kxly+, our digital streaming channel, and working with newsroom managers to cross-promote that content with tv. You’ll also get to scratch the creative itch, creating content for all platforms.

Pay range:  $60,000/year – $66,000/year

Employees are also offered long-term disability insurance, flexible spending account, 401(k), health savings account, and paid time off including 80 hours of vacation following 1 year of service, up to 80 hours of sick time per calendar year depending on start date,  2 personal days and 9 paid holidays.
