HR Generalist – Spokane Broadcast Group – Spokane, WA
The Spokane Broadcast Group, part of the Morgan Murphy Media family of Television, Radio, Digital, and Publishing companies has a rare opening in our Spokane, WA Human Resources department for a detail-oriented HR Generalist.
You’ll help support KXLY-TV, Spokane Radio (a seven-station radio group) as well as KAPP/KVEW TV in Kennewick, and our corporate offices in Madison, WI.
What you’ll do:
- Recruitment – Collaborate with department head and station leaders to create job postings and participate in the selection process including assisting with drafting of job descriptions and job postings, sourcing, screening, and conducting interviews, preparing and extending offers, and background and reference checks.
- Onboarding/Offboarding – Facilitate new hire onboarding and administer onboarding procedures. Administer offboarding procedures, including conducting exit interviews, work with managers to plan and coordinate new hires and terminations.
- Employee Relations – Provide guidance and coaching to managers on employee relations matters. Serve as a trusted resource for employees to help address questions and concerns.
- Compensation and Benefits – Administer employee benefit plans, including new hire enrollments, terminations, open enrollment. Assist with payroll processing as needed.
- Performance Management – Manage and administer annual performance review process. Work with managers and corporate HR team to address and resolve performance issues, including terminations.
- Compliance – Help ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Track and administer FMLA, Disability,, and unemployment claims,
- Miscellaneous –
- Maintain personnel records.
- Complete EEO-1 reporting requirements annually.
- Complete verification of employment requests
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in human resource management or related field
- 2+ years of HR Generalist experience in the state of Washington
- 5+ years of HR Generalist overall experience desired
- PHR or SHRM-CP preferred.

starting Pay range: $55,000/year– $62,000/year
