Operations Supervisor

About this opportunity:  

WISC/News 3 Now has an immediate opening for an Operations Supervisor. We’re looking for someone with strong experience in production and managing people. This person will need to lead, innovate, execute strategy, and maintain a positive work culture where all members continue to grow.  You’ll join a top-notch team dedicated to the success of WISC’s programming which includes WISC and TVW.

What you’ll do:  

• Manage, train, coach, and mentor a team of newscast directors/master control operators, 
• Provide regular feedback to all direct reports which fosters a culture of growth and development.  
• Lead hiring efforts for open operations positions
• Innovate and push the boundaries on presentation and showcasing to increase viewer engagement 
• Administrative duties for the operations department including scheduling, On air directing, switching, routing, editing, timing calculation, program recording and preparation  
• Monitor network transmissions for quality control  
• Troubleshoot and resolve programming issues prior to air  
• Other duties as assigned  

What you’ll bring:  

• Experience with production roles including on air switching, routing, timing calculation, program recording, automation, directing, camera operation, and video editing 
• Experience in managing teams of people  
• Ability to motivate and encourage people and their growth 
• Positive attitude  
• Experience with Ross automation, Chyron, and news room automation systems a plus
