News 3 Now is looking for a Photojournalist to join our team of ambitious journalists. We’re looking for the next great visual storyteller with a proven ability to find, craft, create and deliver visually important content as part of high-quality, high-energy newscasts. We’re looking for someone passionate about news who can cover the big breaking news story as well as they can tell a feature story. Creativity and flexibility are a must. If you have an eye for powerful pictures and an ear for great sound, we’d love to see your application.

News 3 Now produces more than 40 hours of television news a week, and we embrace coverage through our app, social, web site and streaming video channels resulting in a digital stronghold position in the market. The right candidate will innovate on TV as well as digital and social channels. We expect our coverage to meet consumers where they are and connect with them in convenient ways.

What you’ll do:

• Shoot and edit video and sound for all our news platforms. That includes on-air, online, and through streaming apps.
• Take those pictures and turn them into compelling stories. A great candidate will be able to do this independently and when paired with a reporter.
• Understand the tenants of great photography and be able to create visuals at a high level each day.
• Use creative graphic and production techniques to enhance video and audio storytelling
• Work with reporters to deliver engaging live reports, especially in  breaking news situations
• Work collaboratively and individually under pressure in a rapidly changing news environment.
• Work with the assignment desk, reporters, producers, and newsroom managers to meet all deadlines
• Build sources within our community, showing you know how to listen to what interests our viewers.
• Work with management to deliver on audience goals and strategy.

What you’ll bring:

• A positive attitude, open mind and a passion for great journalism
• Experience as an editor and photojournalist in both hard news and feature reporting situations
• Experience with non-linear editing
• Experience working with television production equipment, including live gear
• Ability to work flexible and non-traditional hours, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and possibly overtime hours.
• Must be able to interact professionally, respectfully and effectively with co-workers and external organizations
• Working knowledge of newsroom software is a plus
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and to sit, walk or stand for long periods
• Must have a valid U.S. driver’s license and a clean driving history
