News 3 Now is looking for a Weekend Sports Anchor / Reporter for “America’s greatest college sports town” — Madison, Wisconsin. The sports department aggressively covers the Wisconsin Badgers, the Green Bay Packers, and our local high school sports and wants YOU to join our team.
We’re looking for a dynamic, high-energy, engaging talent who can tell the stories behind the scores that attract both the sports addict and the non-sports enthusiast.
What you’ll do:
Work closely with the Sports Director
Anchor weekend sports
Shoot highlights, press conferences, and stories
Write and edit stories for sportscasts
Publish content and engage with audiences through social and digital channels
Qualifications include a B.S. degree in Journalism or a related field; 2-year experience in television sports, including on-air anchoring and reporting; knowledge of journalistic standards as they relate to the on-air presentation of sports stories; broad knowledge of sporting events with enthusiasm to share this with viewers; eagerness to get involved in the community; accurate and comprehensive writing skills; and ability to bring about non-traditional approaches.
