Meteorologist

News 8 Now/WKBT-TV/News8000.com, Western Wisconsin’s leading TV station and digital source for news, is looking for a talented full-time meteorologist who can effectively communicate weather information.  The right candidate will lead our weather coverage and deliver forecasts for television, digital and social audiences. Creativity, flexibility, and an interest in digital and social media are a must.

Expectations:

• Prepare and deliver urgent, compelling weather forecasts driven by impact to the consumer and connect with viewers across all platforms.
• Aggressively handle severe weather coverage with a priority on keeping people safe and well informed.
• Deliver engaging live reports, especially in breaking news and weather situations.
• Innovate and experiment with the latest technology in digital.  We need someone willing to share their ideas on how we can continue to be a leader in digital and social content.

Qualifications/Requirements:

• BA/BS in Meteorology or related field
• Ability to excel under tight deadlines
• A valid driver’s license and good driving record
