Associate News Producer (PT)

WISC-TV/Channel3000.com is searching for a part-time (20 hours/week) Associate News Producer to join our team of ambitious journalists. We are looking for an emerging leader ready to help deliver high-quality, high-energy newscasts. We will fully train you and provide all the resources you need to succeed!

News 3 Now produces over 40 hours of television news a week. We are a digital stronghold, embracing coverage through our app, social media, website, and streaming video channels. As part of Morgan Murphy Media—a family-owned company committed to quality journalism since 1890—we hold ourselves to an expectation of excellence, having won five national Edward R. Murrow Awards in recent years.

What You’ll Do

• Write compelling stories for both daily live television newscasts and our digital/social platforms.
• Edit video content for newscasts using Adobe Premiere.
• Collaborate with producers on daily rundowns, story placement, and creative content presentation.
• Time live shows directly from our production booth.
• Work with multimedia reporters and photographers to package meaningful stories for our viewers.

What You’ll Bring

• A strong desire to learn writing in both broadcast and digital formats.
• A passion for visual storytelling and an eye for getting the best-looking video on the air.
• Familiarity or willingness to learn Adobe Premiere and Ross Inception.
• An open mind, sharp attention to detail, and a collaborative spirit.
• Education: A BA/BS in journalism (or a related field), or currently being a student in these fields, is preferred but not required.
